HOORAY FOR VOYA!

EMMA DISCOVERS A LUXURIOUS - IF A LITTLE WEEDY - TREAT

Posted: Tuesday 7 Oct 2008

Ever since I was a child I’ve had a fascination with hotels.

Back then I used to love the pristinely made beds, the selection of travel-size toiletries and the numerous sights and sounds that a hotel affords its visitors.

But these days my favourite part of going to a hotel is walking through the lobby.

Ever since I saw Billie Piper, portraying Belle in The Secret Diary Of A Call Girl, walk through a hotel lobby saying ‘be fabulous but forgettable’, I’ve tried to perfect just that.

Obviously Belle’s tip was to avoid being rumbled as a high-class hooker, whereas my reasons are more just because.

I perfected my strut during my stay at The Berkeley in Knightsbridge recently. I was there to try a Voya treatment at the Spa, but after this wonderful treatment my strut was transformed into a float.

The Voya Body Treatment, which is exclusive to The Berkeley, is based on seaweed baths – where skin is scrubbed, before being wrapped in freshly harvested seaweed leaves.

Then to add even more luxury to the treatment you’re wrapped in muslin and cocooned in a thermal blanket.

It’s great as a detox treatment, as well as being a brilliant way to firm and tone skin.

This is a treatment I’d love to do every month, especially as seaweed is a great source of iodine, which is essential for regulating the thyroid gland and keeping your metabolism in check.

Afterwards my skin felt incredible! I think, if possible, it’s made my love of hotels grow even more – and Voya treatments could be my new addiction!

As treatments go it was fabulous but definitely not forgettable! For more information, visit www.the-berkeley.co.uk.
