The Scottish singer-turned-actress was recently spotted wearing a large sparkler on her ring finger while out and about in her adopted home of Los Angeles.

But Manson is refusing to divulge the details behind the diamond ring and is keeping the identity of her reported fiance a mystery.

When asked about her ring, she said, "It's a nice rock but I've decided not to talk about anything like that because it turns into a nightmare."

And the star's dad has been sworn to secrecy over the alleged wedding plans.

He says, "All I can say is she is very happy. The two of them have been together for a while and things are going well.

"They live in L.A. but they have been to visit and our whole family have met him. Shirley is coming back to Edinburgh at the end of the month. I think he will come with her."

If the reports are true, it will be Manson's second marriage - she was previously wed to sculptor Eddie Farrell, but they split in 2003 after seven years together and their divorce was finalised in 2005.
