Certificate 12A, Director Rob Cohen, Starring Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Maria Bello, John Hannah, Michelle Yeoh, Luke Ford

What’s it all about? The third film in the Mummy series sees adventurer Rick (Fraser) and his wife Evelyn (Bello) charged with stopping an evil Chinese emperor who’s been woken from the dead.

What’s good? This is a light summer blockbuster and popcorn poppers should get a kick out of all the action, which moves from Chinese catacombs up to the Himalayas.

Brendan Fraser has still got a way with one-liners and, like the movie in general, has the sense not to take it all too seriously.

What’s bad? With a tired script, this looks set to be the weakest of the series.

It’s a shame that Rachel Weisz didn’t return to her role as Evelyn – and that Maria Bello is miscast as her replacement.

OK! verdict: The third Mummy film is packed with action, but a lacklustre script makes it the worst yet.
