‘I will always miss England,’ the LA Galaxy star says.

‘Everyone knows I am passionate about my country and playing there. I miss my family, friends and a good English pub.

'There are a couple over here but I do miss a pub with a good lager shandy and a Sunday lunch watching football.’

Luckily for him, wife Victoria is a dab hand in the kitchen and can cook a mighty fine roast.

However, he’s not always around to eat it.

Recently he missed out on one and said: ‘Victoria cooked a roast for the boys the other day but I was away so I was quite jealous.’
