UNDERGROUND CLEANERS' DEMONSTRATION

Above: Underground cleaners hold a demonstration

London Underground’s contract cleaners were today striking over pay.

The Union said that the workers have been treated “with appalling intimidation, including being threatened with the sack”.

Hundreds of cleaners will end a 48-hour walkout this evening after taking the drastic action.
